Divine Comedy

This past weekend was really fun (at least it was on Saturday- Friday wasn't overly exciting). On Saturday we went to our Ward Christmas Idol Party- we had a Christmas dinner at the Stake Center and then we had a talent show. David's home teaching companion is on the activities committee and he asked us if we would bake a ham for the dinner that day. We gladly accepted since we don't have to pay for gas and we have a nice little gas stove. Anyways, while the ham was baking in our oven, David decided to do his heat transfer project on the Christmas Ham. What he did was measure the inside temperature of the ham and the inside temperature of the oven every 10 minutes while the ham was baking. The ham that the ward got from Costco came with instructions on how long the ham should bake- but it was totally wrong; the inside temperature of the ham would have been 60 degrees if we would have followed the instructions. We ended up baking our ham for an extra 40 minutes and most definitely did not have our Christmas ham at the Stake Center at 5:30 pm like they asked us (the dinner part of the activity began at 6 pm). Anyways, we baked our ham a little longer and let the inside temperature rise to about 90 degrees and then we sliced it up and ran it over to the stake center.

After our ward Christmas Idol, David and I went to Divine Comedy. Just in case anyone doesn't know what this is, it's a combination of funny skits that a group of BYU students put together. The theme for DC this time was the Best of Divine Comedy and they pulled old skits that they had done previously this semester from their Cougar King and Nickelcade Royale shows. Last time when we went and saw the Nickelcade Royale show, David noticed that Jeremy Warner, one of his old friends from middle school and high school, was apart of Divine Comedy. This time Jeremy came out a few minutes before the show began and was looking around in the line (I think he was just looking for his girlfriend.) Anyways, David waved to Jeremy and he invited us inside the JSB Auditorium to help make glow sticks! So we did and we got to cut the line ahead of us and get super good seats! We got to sit in the middle section about 5 rows from the stage and had a super view! We also got tons of glow sticks- most definately more than we have ever gotten from a Divine Comedy show. Oh, and we almost got a glowing ball that they throw out into the audience- i say almost because it was close enough that i had a few of my fingers on it but then some other girl grabbed it (college aged girls are aggressive!) Anyways, that was our fun Saturday and now we're both trying to finish up the last of our projects before finals begin next week!

way to hook up your connections with the DC crew! I don't think AJ and I will ever be able to make it to one of those now that we're all lonely up here in SLC.... I miss college life- sigh...

Looks like you guys are having a lot of fun and enjoying married life. Corey's work does a sub for santa every year for a different family or two that they pick out. This year the 3 year old girl wanted a hula hoop, it was really cute. Hope you both have a great Christmas!
